The production “Two Carpets” opened the new season at Astana Ballet Theatre.

There is so much that could be said and written about this performance — the production itself is truly impressive. More details about the show can be found on DanceHub.kz’s official Instagram account, but it is impossible not to talk about the emotions this touching story evokes.

It is a stage narrative about an undying love that must endure countless trials, distances, and circumstances. Like any happiness that has been fought for and prayed for, this story finds its own emotional response in the hearts of the audience.

“Two Carpets” was performed to a completely sold-out audience. As before, the spectators represented different generations and, consequently, different worldviews. Yet the work of the actors and director was outstanding. The applause from the audience, rising in unison with the unfolding story, was a clear testament to that.

The stage action was complemented by remarkable technological elements. The lighting design was particularly captivating, so precisely emphasizing the musical foundation of the production. The story came alive not only through the actors’ movements, but also on the screens, which helped intensify the overall impression.

Unrequited love, the characters’ struggles, an apparently hopeless situation, and the collective human tragedy of the era in which the story unfolds drew the audience into moments of deep empathy, followed by moments of relief and a collective sigh in the theatre.

The actors’ remarkable performances also deserve special attention. At times, it felt as though a touring international cast had taken the stage — everything looked so unusual and refreshingly different.

It is a rare moment when so many people gather in one room, yet everyone seems to feel the story in the same way. Every movement, gesture, and nuance of the choreography spoke directly to the audience, conveying the emotions and meaning the director had intended to bring to the stage.

This autumn, “Two Carpets” will be presented to European audiences as part of the Vienna Premieres. For now, all we can do is celebrate such a worthy opening of the new season in the capital.

Organising New Year Corporate Events in Astana.

A successful New Year corporate event begins long before December. Large companies often start planning in August, when HR managers research the market, compare suppliers and define the first requirements for the evening. Beginning early gives the team the freedom to choose rather than settle for whatever remains available at the end of the season. It is possible to source a venue, host, performers, decorators and technical crew independently, but doing so requires considerable time and experience. Companies therefore often entrust the project to a professional event agency responsible not only for suppliers but also for the overall logic of the occasion. An event agency is more than an intermediary between a client and performers. It acts as project coordinator, script team, venue administrator and crisis manager on the day itself.

So what else do they put in Toybastar?

Wedding trends are changing rapidly, but remaining fundamentally Kazakh, our traditional wedding still strives to keep up with the times and social trends. Not a single ritual has been canceled, and moreover, each has been beautifully improved in its own way. Even the noisy and fun women's ceremonies, nicknamed “kalta show” by people, are now held with even more enthusiasm than before, involving more participants. The process of more and more teens getting into Toyas. Ever since the time when Toybastars were brought into the hall no less ceremoniously than meat, the filling and presentation of the Toybastar have undergone so-called 'upgrading.' First of all, bringing gifts to the evening guests is now preferred in a European way: when guests take their seats, they already find small compliments from the organizers under their plates. Which in itself is already eliminates the need to make separate deliveries of gifts. In addition, individual gift bags for women are distributed in special craft bags, and the contents of such bags often include women's accessories: scarves, cosmetic sets, items needed for home use, or useful decorative additions to the boudoir: jewelry boxes, ring statues, candle holders.

This issue is most often noticed by event hosts and planners. During a Kazakh wedding celebration, the hosting family rarely has time to focus on small details. They need to welcome guests, coordinate with the restaurant, check the programme and solve dozens of urgent problems. Yet one small oversight can spoil the first impression of the entire celebration. We are talking about the welcome buffet for guests. It is usually a beautifully arranged line of tables with light appetisers, drinks and fruit. Sometimes it includes a chocolate fountain, both as a decorative feature and a treat. Everything looks immaculate to the first guests who arrive at the appointed time: fresh table settings, neatly arranged food and the anticipation of a special evening.
